GEOMTRY IN OUR LIVES

Geometry represents the mathematics of space and form, which is the basis of all the things that exist. Understanding it is a necessary step to understand how the world is built. Most people have high school geometry classes and learn about triangles and vertical angles. Its application in real life is not always evident to teenagers, but the reality is that geometry is infiltrated in each aspect of our daily life.

In the real world geometry is found everywhere. Some examples are buildings, airplanes, automobiles and maps. The houses are made of basic geometric structures. Some skyscrapers have windows made of rectangles and squares. The John Hancock Tower in Chicago is created with a huge cube. In a car, tires and lights are circular. The great Pyramids of Egypt are made of geometric shapes.

To summarize, I would like to point out some main fields of our society in which geometry takes part:

  • Construction
  • Education
  • Medicine
  • Architecture
  • Fashion
  • Alimentation
  • Transport
  • Science
